Robert Anthony Schuller is currently seen every Sunday morning at 8 am pacific time on Facebook Live (Robert Schuller Ministries) and Instagram. Having started a church in Los Cabos, Mexico in 2014, he was spending half his time there until March 2020 when Covid 19 attacked America and all the churches in Orange County quit meeting. At that time, he knew exactly how to address this catastrophe, and he started a Drive-In Church. Since then, he has been preaching every Sunday to cars parked at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, CA, at 10am. No reservations, masks or social distancing required and everyone is encouraged to sing as loud as they wish (if you can’t sing, please keep your windows rolled up :). As a result, it was the only place in OC where anyone could go to church on Easter 2020.

Dr. Schuller is a New York Times Best Selling author, televangelist to the world and pastor. He was formerly the Senior Pastor of the Crystal Cathedral and the Hour of Power, a weekly television program broadcast from the Crystal Cathedral in Orange County, California. He appeared on that televised church service almost every week from 1976. He was installed as the Senior Pastor in January 2006 and led that ministry for nearly three years until November 29, 2008. He continues his calling with Robert Schuller Ministries, DrSchuller.org, traveling the world sharing the Good News of Jesus and promoting peace with the Global Peace Foundation.

Schuller was raised in Garden Grove, California until 3rd Grade, when his family moved to Santa Ana where he attended Santa Ana High School. He graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, with a bachelor's degree in ancient civilization in 1976 and moved back to OC to work at the Garden Grove Community Church and attend Fuller Theological Seminary. While obtaining his Master of Divinity degree his work at the church included leading worship services, developing a 24-hour prayer group, organizing small group fellowships, appearing weekly on the Hour of Power and assisting in the construction of the Crystal Cathedral. In 1980, Schuller became an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America. He received an honorary doctorate degree from National Hispanic University in San Jose, California in 1996 and an honorary doctorate from the California Graduate School of Theology in 2008.
